adoption

Adoption timeline:
October 2011: we decided to start the process. We met with a caseworker and submitted an application
February 2012: We began an intense, three hour weekly adoption class that we finished end of May 2012
July 2012: We fall in love with a sibling group from Florida, desperately want to adopt them, finish all of our home visits, paperwork and the gazillion other things for our home study. Sadly no home study and we were told they had to choose another family. This was our first heartbreak.
January 2013:  Nearly nine months after completing everything necessary for our home study, it is finally finished (after much begging). We begin submitting home studies on potential matches
March 2013: We receive a call about a baby girl named Skyla, they want to interview us...we have been chosen out of 300 home studies. We are overjoyed. We interview and wait...
May 2013: The week of Mother's day we find out the foster mom has now changed her mind. We will not be adopting Skyla.
- we begin researching international adoption and talking to agencies. We pray.
June 2013: Angela sees a picture of the three beautiful babies, immediately calls Joe and tells him, she feels like they are theirs. Submits an application of interest and is told they are not up for adoption, and they are already placed
July 2013: picture reappears of the sibling group of three. Angela once again inquiries and is told they were just listed for adoption for the first time....who knows!?! Submit home study...and wait.
-call again, ( Angela knows they are her's ) ;) and is told home study was never submitted and they are no longer accepting.  They have received hundreds of home studies for these children, Joe convinces them over the phone to look at our home study, ( they do have it).
- receive a call- out of hundreds we are in the top 7.
August 1st 2013: After waiting for what seemed years, a five hour meeting is held and we are CHOSEN. We are Matched!!
October 2013: We sign our adoptive placement papers and our children move in!
